Love is in the air all around England, as Prince William and Kate Middleton prepare to get married in less than 40 hours. Judging by the trending topics on Twitter, regarding the Royal Wedding, rehearsals have already begun and citizens have spotted the couple among Westminster Abbey.
Spectators are already thinking ahead and are camping out on the sidewalks by the Abbey. The first, John Loughrey, arrived on Monday at 5 PM to claim his spot. He said “the chimes of Big Ben seemed to have spelled out Diana’s name”. The 56-year-old unemployed chef is sporting a t-shirt that says “Diana Would Be Proud” and has the flag of the Union Jack draped around him.
Many who attended Princess Diana’s wedding, back in 1981, are making a return to Prince William’s wedding. ”Maybe they will have a baby girl they’ll call Diana and then we’ll have a Queen Diana at last,” Loughrey said.
Officers are urging the spectators to immediately contact officials and security if they notice suspicious behaviour from anyone.
The weather forecast is calling for inevitable rain for the special day; this should be seen as good sign. Old traditions state that rain on a wedding day suggests good luck to the newlyweds.
